"Retnull" = "return NULL", an idiom in the C programming lanuage meaning "the result of this process is nothing"

AND / OR

"Retnull" = "retinal", which (after Marcel Duchamp) negatively describes artwork that lacks conceptual content; it exists in the eye only.
