Noema 2006
2 channel video installation with 8 channel audio, at Diapason Gallery, NYC, December 2006
Composer Michael Schumacher created Noema, an 8 channel algorithmic electronic audio composition. It is a not a fixed work, rather a process of potentially infinite duration. For this installation I created a program that "listened" to the Noema process, and visualized the individual components of the audio, in real-time. The intended effect is a synaesthesia that is not expressive, not aesthetic, and not empirically accurate.
